In this economy...

We need more free food deals! And since Boston (ahem, Roggies) can't do Happy Hour drink deals, I've compiled some great cheap food- some with the purchase of alcohol, some without. Enjoy!

McCormick & Schmick's: Mon-Fri: 3:30-6:30 (Back Bay location). Happy Hour menu and drink specials. This place I actually went to once with my family. It was great, and VERY cheap food (like $1.95 burgers)- just have to buy 1 drink, but they are decently priced. You should do this at least to try it- below is the menu.
$1.95

Classic Cheeseburger with Fries
Hummus Cucumbers and Grilled Pita
Shrimp Ceviche In Citrus Marinade
Blackened Chicken Sandwich Cheddar Cheese and French Fries
Tomato Bruschetta Balsamic Glaze and Basil

$3.95

Fried Cod Sandwich Cheddar, Cole Slaw and Fries
Ahi Tuna Roll Shoyu Dipping Sauce
Salmon Cakes Lemon Butter, Apples and Leeks
Calamari Trio of Dipping Sauces
Potato Skins Cheddar, Sour Cream and Crispy Bacon

$4.95

Jambalaya Cajun Red Hot Sausage and Rice
Fish Tacos Salsa Fresca and Sour Cream
Kobe Beef Sliders Cheddar and Caramelized Onions
Fried Shrimp Cocktail Sauce and French Fries
Chicken & Sausage Etouffe Simmered in Nut Brown Sauce with Rice
Peel 'n Eat Shrimp Butter & Old Bay

The Pour House- Saturday nights 6pm-10pm they have half-prized burgers. I actually did this once before I was 21 with Nicole and Keegan, and our bill was incredibly low since we just got waters, not drinks. It was delicious, and the burgers are big. There are no real drink specials but they of course have draft beers and such. And the burgers are worth it.
ALSO this just in: Half-off mexican food night on Thursdays from 5-10pm, and the reviews say that the servings are huge for $5.

Hennessey's: although I may not like it for night life, they have 1/2 priced appetizers weeknights and $2 miller light drafts always. This is also fun and in the city, and near the waterfront to do a drunk stroll after you fill up on 1/2 priced apps and beers. Nom.

Paddy O's has beer/food specials on Friday. They also have a special on Weeknights until 9pm -- Buy a pitcher of beer, get 8 chicken wings free. You can each get your own pitcher and get free wings. Sounds like a legit cheap dinner/buzz to me. And if there are two of you, they have a special from 4-9pm: $35 for 2 entrees (off their special menu, obvi) and a bottle of wine. That's not as good as the Fresh Pairings (1 app and 1 entree for $10) at Chili's, but the bottle of wine could sell me on this one.

Sissy K's has a free food buffet from 4-7 every day (!!!!). They also have 2-for-1 appetizers every night from 10pm-1am. There might be a cover charge here though, especially at night or on weekends, and I bet the clientele sucks- this may be good for some drunk snacking, but I doubt I'd frequent this place for the appetizers.

If you ever want to venture to Harvard Sq when the weather is nice, Grendel's Den has half-prized food from 5-7:30.  EVERYTHING ON THE FOOD MENU IS HALF PRICE! Half-Price hours are from 5:00 pm 'til 7:30 pm every evening and from 9:00 pm 'til 11:30 pm Sunday - Thursday. You must purchase a minimum of $3 per person to qualify for half price food. They only offer the half-price deal indoors, not on our patio (bummer).

Our House, in Allston/Brighton: Three specials: Come down and nurse that hangover with Saturday and Sunday Brunch, from Noon to 5 pm with $5 Omelettes served with tater tots and toast. Don't forget about the $5 Bloody Marys, White Russians and Screwdrivers (aka the most important part!) ALSO 2 for 1 burgers and apps- Mondays thru Thursday between 5pm and 8pm and Friday at 4pm. Come and have some delicious food for half the price. Finally, for those of your who like to get your Tuesday rage on, they want you to relax in your pajamas: No dressing up, come as you are. Free breakfast at 10pm. Sometimes eggs, sometimes pancakes, you never know- this could be a huge win.

Another Cambridge spot- Noir at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge has a cool deal. This place looks swanky for days when Keegan and I dress nice at work and want to get our flirt on with business conservatives (shut up, it happens sometimes).  Monday thru Thursday they have a  5-4-3-2-1-0 Menu: Unwind after work with: $5 Flatbreads, $4 Sandwiches, $3 Snacks $2 Salads, $1 Sweets, $0 Nuts, 5-7 pm. Minimum $6 Beverage Purchase Per Guest.

At Estragon, in the South End, they have $1 Tapas, Monday-Thursday, 5:30-7 (perfect timing for after work). The menu is on the link- and it looks pretty delicious. Also, their location and setting is awesome- complete with patio dining.

Ok, so this isn't extensive, and I know I didn't include some of my favorite places, such as the gems listed below, but it's a good start. I'll make sure to post anything else I find!

Roggie's ($.30 wings, $1.25 draft domestic beers weekdays 4-7pm, and of course their lunch special!),

Cityside/Joshua Tree (new Happy Hour menu 4-7pm, $3 Bud and Coors drafts everyday, great Brunch),

Brighton Beer Garden (2 for 1 meals on Mon and Tues when the Bruins win over the weekend and ALL YOU CAN EAT Wings for $5.99 on Mon/Tues from 9-11pm. They also have a bunch of other deals- click through the link to see more).
