Get Your Wednesday Fashion On!

So here we have a nice little fashion duo for the front office. Both Mimz and Leigh (our new intern- we're looking for a nickname- leave some ideas!) are looking classy and clean in their casual outfits. We have some great office fashion do's and don't's coming at you!

Today, Mimz is sporting an office DO: Layering.
Now some women at the office use layering as a way to mask their weird body shapes or their muffin tops, but Lindsey here does this for fashion and function. It is sometimes a little chilly in our office, so Mimz grabbed her Gap cream zip in case of a cool office breeze. If you're in the market for a similar sweater, you won't find this exact one- unless you can travel back to a Gap sale rack in 1997. Next week we'll get some laundry tips from Mimz- her clothes literally last forever!

Mimz is a jeans fiend. As you'll see in many of our entries, Mimz follows the old adage: "If your job allows denim, do it to it, girl!"
Unfortunately, the way Mimz wears her jeans is an office fashion DON'T: Holes in Your Pants.
Although Mimz found a great deal at Tello's for these jeans: $10 on the sale rack, it may have been a tipoff to the quality she would receive. These jeans seem to have held up to the naked eye, but when you are under the scrutiny of a non-profit and having a boss that only works 3 days a week, you really have to bring your denim A game. We'll see what Mimz comes up with next Wednesday- we hope she undoes this Don't!

Next up is Leigh. She's a recent college grad ready to slice through unemployment with a new internship! Luckily she stumbled into our fashion-forward office. I wasn't going to include her today because I wasn't sure that she really matched all that well (brown tank, blue striped tee, salmon bermudas), but then I thought- "Whoa! She's wearing Tory Burch sandals. Maybe I'm behind the times and cool people don't match anymore!" Needless to say, Leigh is crushing the competition. Salmon may have left on the ferry to MV this summer, but here in Wellesley we have our own slice of prep, courtesy of Leigh herself. Prep and Tory Burch: Both office DO'S! Clearly, matching is now a casual office DON'T!
Leigh is pictured head-to-ankle in H&M, although I smell a J.Crew sale rack purchase near those pants. That metaphor was actually horrific, and I apologize, but I leave work soon, and I don't have time to be clever. Wit takes a back seat to fashion, folks.

All in all, the last day of June was a fashion success. We have a great gameplan for the month of July, and by the looks of it, all the binge drinking and cookouts have yet to destroy the bodies of our office models. Although if it, Mimz knows how to get her layer on to hide any roller coasters along the way.

I hear the Lindsey roller coaster has a really long line, though. And I bet there aren't any holes in her apple bottoms.
